Eelan the Film
Diversity in Cannes is pleased to announce Eelan as the winner of the 2015 Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase. The debut film by Leilani Franco, 2014 University of Westminster graduate, Eelan is an arthouse requiem film featuring an open collaboration of over 50 European acrobats, dancers, fashion designers, musicians and film artists. It begins with the birth of a female creature entwined to a tree and follows her through a discovery of the meaning of life and death as she encounters the beauty and tragedy of nature and civilization.

Torn: A Live Motion Capture Body Looping Performance
For the Bombay Beach Biennale, we took the project Rooms further, by having Leilani perform live in the motion capture suit, with gestures to initiate and end Body-Looping Sequences. In this piece, she plays with the duality of man and inherent human nature, the push and pull, the chase and flight of two lovers, two friends, two siblings. By controlling her avatars live and in real-time, it added to the esthetic complexity of the choreography between the performer and the digital avatars. This was performed at the Bombay Beach Drive-In with the projection on the abandoned truck for the closing of the festival. The avatars and all other environments were rendered and coded by Codercat Studio

Rooms. A Live Motion Capture Performance
In collaboration with Codercat Studio, we devised a live performance to fit onto the architectural structure of the self-made walls of Mars College, an art and tech residence in the middle of the California desert. With Leilani choreographing and recording 5 versions of herself to represent her various states of emotions during the hard lockdown Corona, she then in the live show interacted with her 5 digital avatars. The motion capture was retargeted by Digital Circus. The avatars and all other environments were rendered and coded by Codercat Studio.

ARTSTADT LOVESTADT
I curated the exhibitions and created all the graphic assets for our promotional campaign, which reached the infoscreens in all of Hamburg. LOVESTADT was a one month ongoing event for ARTSTADT, which featured exhibitions, workshops, and meetups all with the central theme of love for the city of Hamburg and for community.

ARTSTADT BLOCKSTADT
I curated, produced, and created the concept and exhibition promotional material for BLOCKSTADT, the October exhibition of ARTSTADT. It focused on blockchain and its effects on artists. I also started the NFT Academy Hamburg in this time.
